Pearson Arastradero
Visitor Center
The Visitor Center at Pearson Arastradero Preserve showcases native plants hikers will see on their walks within the 622 acre open space preserve. Working with Acterra, the managing non-profit environmental group and City of Palo Alto Park Rangers, we designed the landscape to enhance educational programs led from the center. A new patio connects the buildings together, offering a tree-shaded outdoor classroom. A new entry area integrates the pay phone kiosk with an ADA accessible path leading to the buildings and to the restrooms. The path and bridge, constructed of permeable materials, is sized for horse traffic since equestrians utilize the extensive trails leading from the center.
